Roller Skate Cookies

My daughter just turned 7. *Sigh*

Where does the time go?

Yesterday she was like this.

Today... this!

How did that happen?

She wanted to have her birthday at the skating rink. She had so much fun and I enjoyed watching this smile on her face all day.

Here are the cookies I made.

And here are the cupcakes.

And for the goodie bags, I made strawberry and chocolate Muddy Buddies!

She had a wonderful time and I am so happy and thankful to God for granting me 7 beautiful years with my silly, goofy, funny, loving, wonderful and beautiful little girl!

Happy 7th Birthday Emily! And many more!

Iced Oatmeal Cookies

I love Mother's Iced Oatmeal Cookies. So when I came across this recipe I was excited to make them.

And they turned out excellent.

Who doesn't love a soft oatmeal cookies with icing? I mean really? Who? I want to know their name and them give them one of these cookies. So. Good.

I found the recipe here. Only thing I did different was add 1tsp of vanilla.

Enjoy!

Cowboy Themed Cookie

I recently did some cowboy themed cookies for a baby shower.

The colors were red and blue and they wanted boots and hats.

I had a lot of fun coming up with these.

And I was very thankful to make these for a new, sweet little cowboy!

4th of July Goodies

I  hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

Here are a few goodies that I made for the 4th!

These are S'mores Cookies. These are really easy to put together and are so yummy.

Melt about 12oz of chocolate. I did mine in a double boiler. Take a graham crackers and break in half.  Spread about a teaspoon of marshmallow fluff on a cracker and top with the other cracker. Dip in melted chocolate, tap off excess chocolate and place on wax paper. I sprinkled some graham cracker crumbs on top for the sheer cuteness! I then placed these cookies in the freezer to set for a couple minutes.

Really good! Don't put too much marshmallow fluff in the cookies or they will ooze out when dipped in the melted chocolate.

Next up, I made these cuties!

These are Red Velvet Muddy Buddies. I got the recipe here. However, after I made these, I melted some white chocolate and sprinkled it on the mixture. I then added some patriotic sprinkles.

They were a big hit at our celebration! They are addictive and you can't stop eating them! Just a word of warning, people!

Again, I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!

I am so thankful for my freedom and that I am living in the USA. I am also thankful for the men and women who have fought to help us keep that freedom.

Christmas {Cookies} In July

Last year I was asked to make a lot of Christmas cookies for a local bank Christmas party. I made half of the cookies and the bank bought store bought for the other half.

This is what I came up with.

First up, Jello cookies.

I love these cookies. They are bright and I love the fruity flavors. I did strawberry and lime jello and added food coloring to the dough to make the colors darker. The recipe came from here.

Next up, cake mix sugar cookies.

1 box of white cake mix, 2 eggs, 1tsp. of baking powder, 1/2 c. vegetable oil, 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract and some Christmas sprinkles. 350 degrees, 8-10 minutes and you can use canned or homemade frosting. These were by far the most popular the night of the Christmas party. I added sprinkles on top and crushed peppermints. These were so good!

Next is my favorite! Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I used a chocolate chip cookie recipe but made some minor adjustments. I used mint extract instead of vanilla. I used mint chocolate chips (I also have used Andes baking mints) and used green food coloring to color the dough. I love all things chocolate mint!

Last, I made Amish Monster Cookies; Christmas style with red and green M&Ms.

Recipe is from here. This recipe make a ton of cookies and has a little of everything; peanut butter, oatmeal, chocolate chips and M&Ms.

This was my kitchen table after making all these cookies.

My cookies were a big hit and I was asked to make all the cookies for the party next year.

I hope you enjoy these recipes because it's never too early to start planning your Christmas cookies!!
